John Lingle, Ph.D.:

John LingleDr. Lingle has been involved for two decades in organizational consulting both in the United States and overseas.

Most recently, Dr. Lingle has focused his consulting efforts on helping organizations implement their critical strategies, primarily via the design and implementation of organizational performance measurement systems. He has consulted with both national and international companies, as well as with major U.S. Universities. He has experience working with a range of organizations, including BP Amoco, Chubb Insurance, Glaxo Wellcome, Harvard University, Johnson & Johnson, Olsten Corporation, Hewlett Packard, UPS and McDonalds.

Dr. Lingle has organizational development experience in a broad number of areas including: strategy formulation, executive decision-making, employee survey design and implementation, strategic performance management and measurement, team building and strategies for effecting organizational change and development.

He began his career as a foreign service officer working with the Peace Corps in Venezuela developing Peace Corps assistance programs for government and private industry. In this position, he also directed all of Peace Corps Venezuela's in-country volunteer training. Prior to joining Metrus Group, Dr. Lingle served as Vice President at two leading survey research firms, Sirota & Alper and Opinion Research Corporation.

Dr. Lingle has a doctorate in social psychology and quantitative methods. He spent seven years on the Rutgers University faculty and has published multiple articles on decision-making and performance measurement systems. Articles by Dr. Lingle have appeared in the Journal of Organizational Behavior & Human Performance, Behavior Research Methods & Instrumentation, Quality Magazine, Management Review and the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology. He has authored several chapters on performance measurement and decision-making, including a chapter in the Handbook of Social Cognition. He is also co-author of the 1999 Free Press book, Bullseye! Hitting Your Strategic Targets Through High-Impact Measurement.

Dr. Lingle received his Ph.D. degree in Social Psychology from Ohio State University with a minor in quantitative methods. He has a B.A. degree in History and Economics from Davidson College.
