Valeria Schiemann is Vice President with Metrus Group, and has served
on the Board of Directors of Metrus Group since 1996, joining Metrus Group as
Vice President in spring of 2001. Her work there is focused on development and
implementation of measurement systems to support strategy deployment in
high-performance organizations. She has presented on this topic at programs
sponsored by Conference Board (New York, Chicago, San Diego) and by IQPC-Asia
(Singapore, Malaysia). Recent clients include Hewlett-Packard, Kane is Able
Warehousing, and CIT. In addition, she is responsible for developing alliance
relationships with other organizations with aligned objectives
Prior to joining Metrus, Dr. Schiemann spent over twenty years with AT&T, Bell Laboratories and Lucent Technologies. Her accomplishments there included:
- development and implementation of manufacturing strategies that address the evolution of AT&T from a U.S.-based, vertically integrated manufacturer to a global manufacturer which effectively leveraged supplier partners throughout the value chain
- start-up of internal venture units with Lucent, with the goal of enabling faster realization of value from Bell Labs developments
- working with R&D and manufacturing units to develop individual, team and organization-level measures that were tied to business performance
Dr. Schiemann received a Ph.D in Physical Chemistry from University of Illinois, Urbana, and a B.S. in chemistry from Illinois Institute of Technology.
